WHAT IS A HEALTH COACH ?
As a health coach I bridges the gap between a doctor a therapist and a life coach. I partner with clients who are seeking self-directed and lasting changes that are aligned with their values, which promote health and wellness thereby enhancing their well-being. In the course of my work, health and wellness, as a health coach I believe in displaying unconditional positive regard for clients and a believe in their capacity for change and honouring that each client is an expert on his or her life, while ensuring that all interactions are respectful and non-judgemental.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A NUTRITIONIST A DIETICIAN AND A HEALTH COACH?
A health coach understands your entire life and your health, fitness and wellness goals. A dietician only focuses on diet prescriptions, will not look at your emotional wellbeing or your lifestyle. Often dieticians and nutritionists follow a cookie cutter approach and are only focused on weight loss and calorie deficit diets. While their approach works for a lot of people, they may not have long lasting results. Clients often spiral back into old habits and put on weight, a health coach works with shifting and re-aligning old habits to form new ones, from nutrition, lifestyle to emotional wellbeing.
